Pasture Fed Beef
Field Too Fork Traceability
I think its fair to say that as a nation we eat too much meat. Meat used to be a luxury but now a-day with modern farming techniques & the dominance of supermarkets this once prized source of protein is now over produced to the point it's become detrimental to our health and less selfishly to the planet.
So what can we do? Well if we don't fancy becoming a vegan we can.
A. Reduce our consumption & B. Shop ethically.
At Peakhill Farm I raise pasture fed beef from our small herd of South Devon cattle.
The South Devon is a very old breed that can metabolise a grass diet easily & efficiently.
The species rich pasture supports a whole eco system. White clover for the bees. Vetches for the butterflies & the occasional orchid for me.
Each acre of grassland with 2"s of topsoil is capable of capturing & storing 1 ton of carbon per annum
